The European Development Days in Stockholm.

The European Development Days in Stockholm have been very successful with many meetings with European political leaders, Presidents and ambassadors from all over the world.
One of the first meetings of the conference was a private meeting between Crown Princess Victoria from Sweden and Princess Abze from Burkina Faso.

On behalf of the Mossi Kingdom Princess Abze offered Princess Victoria a small present and invited her to visit the Mossi Kingdom.
 
In the meeting with Gunilla Carlsson, Minister for Swedish International Development Coordination, Princess Abze discussed how to sell Shea Butter to Sweden Best.

With Margot WallStrom, Vice President of the European Commission and in charge of Institutional Relations and Communication, Princess Abze discussed how to leverage the country side and how women in Western Africa could make the difference in economic environments.

Princess Abze also had a very good meeting with Soumaila Cisse, President of the West African Economic and Monetary Union how to work together in enabling funds for the stimulating projects and growth in rural areas.

With Domique Strauss-Kahn, Managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Princess Abze discussed about Diaspora and Migrational Development and the importance of migrants for the developing countries as generate accelerated growth by feeding back knowledge and experience to their home countries. They explored ideas how the IMF can support good ideas and lessons learned. His feedback was that the European Agency of Co-Development proposes a very good starting point.

Improving mobility in Western Africa

Burkina Business School has joined Cities for Mobility,
http://www.cities-for-mobility.net.  This
global network is working on and searching for common ways towards sustainable mobility – meaning a mobility which is accessible to all, environmentally-friendly and economy-focused. In this endeavor the network cooperates closely with experts from the economy, universities and research institutions as well as nongovernmental organizations.
During the annual meeting in Stuttgart Burkina Business School has discussed joint ways forward with delegations of the city of NanJing and with the a delegation of the Florianapolis.

Floods in Burkina Fasso

Due to heavy rains a large part of Ouagadougou got flooded September 1st. More than 150.000 people lost their homes and the infrastructure was heavenly damaged. The total damage is hunderds of Millions Euro.




Burkina Businessschool is working with the local communities to help restoring the damage.





European Development days in Stockholm 22-24 October 2009

Burkina Business School is invited to and will attend the European Development Days (EDD). The EDD are a yearly event hosted jointly by the European Commission and the EU Presidency.

The EDD bring some 4 000 people and 1 500 organisations from the development community together on an equal footing. Delegates from 125 countries are represented, including heads of state and leading world figures, Nobel prizewinners among them. The event aims to make development aid more effective, to build a global coalition against poverty and achieve the Millennium Development Goals. Through frank and sometimes controversial debates on pressing issues, such as governance, poverty and environmental sustainability, the European Development Days provide unprecedented opportunities for sharing ideas and launching innovative partnerships. Successful European Development Days in Strasbourg

Burkina Business School attended for the first time the European Development Days in 2008. That year the event was held in Strasbourg and brought together representatives of all countries together. Chaired by a very driven Louis Michel actions were agreed between Europe and the other countries how optimize and to accelerate local developments and to (help) grow the local economic wealth faster.

Burkina Business School had a stand in Strasbourg in the Development Village, see
